Embedded Software Engineer

InstantEye Robotics’ Tactical Unmanned Aerial Systems are the systems of choice by military, law enforcement, first responder and commercial users around the world. We are looking for a motivated embedded software engineer to join our fast-moving team and become a key contributor to the development of our family of UAS products. InstantEye systems remain on the cutting edge of robotics technology put into operation everyday due largely to a unique blend of research backed up by field evaluation and testing.

As part of the InstantEye team you will be involved with projects from the first scribbles on a whiteboard to training customers on how to use your new creation. Key Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering/Technical discipline
  • Strong software engineering background
  • Thorough understanding of C++ and object oriented design
  • Experience developing software for robots or remotely operated products
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a small team and apply new technologies quickly
  • US Citizenship required

Desired Experience

  • Developing with C/C++ on microcontrollers
  • Communications protocols (UART, I2C, SPI, USB, Ethernet)
  • Linux and embedded Linux kernel development (U-boot, Yocto, Make, CMake, pkg-config, KConfig)
  • Controls, state estimation, system identification
  • Computer vision and machine learning (Qt, OpenCV, ROS)
  • Video streaming/transcoding (GStreamer, H.264)
  • Git, SVN
  • Android development, C, VHDL, assembly, BASH
  • Software design patterns, multithreading
  • Electrical engineering
  • Robotics hardware

Description

As a member of the InstantEye Robotics hardware development team, you will:

  • Write and debug software that will directly impact current and future unmanned systems (UAS, UAV, quadcopters, drones etc.) in a fast-paced environment.
  • Follow development processes, including version control, writing unit test, perform code reviews, full system testing
  • Leverage, design, and implement hardware and software APIs
  • Work closely with electrical, aerospace and mechanical engineers in coordinating designs of embedded systems
  • Provide support for production deployments
  • Be required to deliver high-quality results on time

InstantEye Robotics recently moved into a new, state-of-the-art production and engineering facility specifically designed to support our technical and manufacturing activities.

Electrical Engineer

  • Software (C/C++, MATLAB, simulation tools)
  • Fine-pitch soldering rework

Description

  • Design and manufacture PCBs for prototype and production systems
  • Be required to deliver high-quality results on time
  • Work closely with software, aerospace and mechanical engineers in coordinating designs of embedded systems
  • Provide manufacturing support for production systems
  • Work closely with engineering team to debug problems swiftly and efficiently
  • Optimize product for low cost and high throughput manufacturability
